sponsorship program
Because Second Hand Fame has such a strong focus on showing and higher level riders, it's only natural that we sponsor our riders! We have a Total Points page on our High Points Spreadsheet which will calculate total points for each rider, at each level, in each discipline, regardless of horse they ride. Based on this, the top 2 riders in each specialty will earn sponsorship for shows. If there is a tie, all riders involved in the tie will be sponsored. What does sponsorship mean on SHF? That they don't have to pay entry fees, of course! There are, however, limitations.

sponsorship limitations

001 The rider must be showing at their own level to earn sponsorship. If Jane Doe is qualified for International shows, but showing in a National show or below, she still has to pay her entry fees.

002 If the rider is showing above their level to 'break in' to a higher level, only half of their entry fee cost is covered by sponsorship. If Jane Doe is a National level rider and brings her horse to an International level show where her entry fee total would be 200 points, she will only pay 100 points.

003 Sponsorship applies to all regular shows - that is, the numbered shows (all schooling, schooling/national, and national level) as well as the bonus higher level shows (such as the longines global tour). However, World-based shows, such as the FEI World Cup, the Pan-Am Games, and the Olympics are all excluded from sponsorship. Everyone is on equal ground for these. Qualifier shows for these world-based shows are also excluded from sponsorship. However, they all have much higher payouts to accommodate.

004 Riders will only be placed on the list they are applicable for upon acceptance of the character. Showing at other levels will not earn them show points for sponsorship purposes. For example, if Jane Doe is an International rider, but showing a younger horse at National level, any points she earns with this horse will not be added to her total point count on the International spreadsheet because they are not International level shows. She will also not be added to the National level spreadsheet because she is not a National level rider. Note: World-based shows and their qualifiers count as International, and so Olympic riders will be placed on the International spreadsheet.

005 Sponsorship can come and go quickly; it will be recalculated after every week! The staff will be careful in terms of entry fees, but if you are on the list of this thread at the time you enter a show and are charged inappropriate entry fees, please contact a member of the staff to correct the problem. We all make mistakes, but we're happy to fix ours!
